day after day
i move farther away
from when i was missing you.
my heart’s getting tougher
as i seek a new lover
who’ll love mi like you couldn’t do.
my spirit gets stronger
as i hang on a bit longer –
getting totally over you.
i no longer cry
or ask myself why.
i’m actually coping too!
the tears rarely come,
fewer nights spent alone
& you cross my mind only out of the blue.
it’s safe to say i’ve moved on
‘though i’m sad that you’re gone
for i once thought our love – was true.
