if i told you i love you
would you think it insignificant, merely words?

or would you look inside my eyes
and see behind the hurt?

would you see what it takes to be that open,
to trust someone so much with my soul?

to say ‘i love you’ so many times
simply means youre making mi whole.

you’ve taken a cocoon of mud and mess
and helped her to see her colors,
to shine in a way she knew she could
but was afraid to show to another.

so look into my eyes and into my heart
and see the joy and peace contained within.

for never have i said ‘i love you’ this way-
nor will i ever again.
