when i look into your eyes
& see the man you hide-
i want to dive right in
and hold you close & watch our love begin.
with each tender kiss
as you touch my lips
there’s nowhere i’d rather be
than in your arms
while you’re staring back at mi.
as for this man i get to know
& as you open up your soul
i share myself as well
and as we take this journey together
know i’m also scared as hell.
for a frightened child lurkes behind us both
in hearts that long for love’s sweet touch.
but (perhaps) as we grow & walk & share
we ‘ll see beyond the wounds
to the love that lingers there.
